Who we are
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead
Organisations across Leighton Buzzard’s business, arts, culture, heritage, and health communities have come together to amplify a unified voice - helping to drive conversation around community-driven regeneration.
The members of Culture Co Leighton Buzzard (aka ‘the Collab’) are businesses, organisations, and individuals who have shared aims and values:
● Our mission is to facilitate collaboration between business, cultural, historical, health, and arts groups in Leighton Buzzard, providing the space, funding, and community support needed to bring ideas to life.
● Through placemaking and the activation of the town center, we aim to increase footfall, improve health and well-being, and cultivate a collective spirit that celebrates and sustains the vibrant cultural sector of our town.
● By establishing shared spaces and fostering organic connections between creatives, we aim to elevate the overlooked, make space for innovative ideas, and empower our community to align their skills and talents in meaningful ways.
● Together, we strive to build Leighton Buzzard as a recognized creative destination, supporting local venues and businesses in forming strong creative partnerships.
Specific Objectives of the Partnership
To work together to identify available vacancies with the potential for activation.
To take on a visible advocacy role locally, working with all levels of government as well as private landlords to push for activation of vacant/underutilised spaces, and for the benefit of this approach to the future of the High Street.
To leverage our presence to encourage cultural engagement
Support independent creative enterprises to stay hyperlocal, with the aim of driving renewed footfall to Leighton Buzzard Market Square.
Work with the Primary Care Network to provide space for Social Prescribing within a creative and collaborative environment.
We will develop a strong collective identity that unites cultural, historical, and arts groups under a shared mission, leveraging this unified voice to drive our ambitions forward.
By seeking funding and resources, we will provide the foundation needed to support creative initiatives and shared spaces.
Through active collaboration and outreach, we will connect diverse local stakeholders— creatives, venues, businesses, and the wider community—fostering partnerships that amplify our collective impact and ensure the success of our shared vision.
